Emilio Martínez Pañeda, collaborator of KHISGROUP, and researcher of both SIMUMECAMAT and the University of Cambridge, has been awarded with the Acta Student Award, given by the American Society of Materials (ASM). It is the first time that a Spanish researcher win this prestigious prize.
Emilio has contributed with his research to the development of a novel model that allows predicting with high accuracy the breakage of metallic materials in the presence of aggressive hydrogen environments. In his work, leaded by the University of Oviedo, Emilio has collaborated with researchers from the Technical University of Denmark and the University of Virginia (EE UU).
This development has a very important application to industries as off-shore and oil and gas, where it was not possible, until now, the prediction of the hydrogen assisted cracking by means of numerical models.
By the following link, you can read an interview published in the regional newspaper El Comercio. Congratulations Emilio!
